Michelle Johnson is Las Vegasʼ “First Lady of Jazz.”  Her extensive bio features jazz recordings and performances at jazz festivals all over the world, and showcases at jazz workshops and concerts in the Las Vegas area, as well as in LA and New York.  She performed on Broadway as the “Scat Singer” in the play Some Americans Abroad, which opened at Lincoln Center and then moved to the Vivian Beaumont Theater. She has been a featured vocalist at the Lionel Hampton Jazz festival and an opening act for Spyro Gyra. Her recorded vocals are featured on the CBS Jazz project, where she contributed her rendition of Duke Ellington’s “Lush Life.” She has also been seen on CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, TNT, and TBS, and has performed for radio, many television shows and several award specials.

Michelle has delighted crowds worldwide with her wonderful  tributes to Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and other Great Ladies of Jazz. Her understanding of the rich history of this spectacular era in American music and her heartfelt and

spot on delivery of lyric, melody and classic big band arrangements have made her a popular act in showrooms, conventions, festivals and nightclubs.  She knows the stories, the arrangements, and the meaning behind the

music.  Her performances share that knowledge and her vocals always leave audiences wanting more.

Michelle Johnson is a recognized international vocalist, who has lived and performed in several countries, singing in over seven languages.
